As may be recalled Aamir rushed to the spot on hearing the news (though he was forced to fly twice to Leh in inclement weather, due to technical snags) and interacted with the students at the Druk Pema school, and he is still doing all he can to rebuild the school and help the people of Ladakh overcome the great calamity.
However another kind gesture from the ace actor that went largely unnoticed was his financial aid for his 90 year old tennis coach, Govind Kamble.
Well, you read it right, it is not cricket or badminton but lawn tennis. Aamir Khan Sahab was very active on the Maharashtra tennis circuit in his youth and when he recently met a few of his old friends and instructor, Tahir Ali, and inquired about Govind, his coach. The actor came to know that the nonagenarian coach was living in a dilapidated state, with no financial help and was in frail condition. Aamir immediately offered financial help, and he along with his tennis friends collected money which was given to Kamble at the State Lawn Tennis Association office in Bombay. The actor was there personally to meet his coach .
Well, it’s certain that the prayers of such needy people have worked in making Aamir Khan Sahab the undisputed numero uno in people’s heart!
