God of Bollywood Aamir Khan Sahab unveiled the DVD of Peepli [Live] – India’s official entry to the Oscars this year. Bollywood’s most successful actor launched the DVD at Landmark in Lower Parel. The DVD released by Excel Home Entertainment is the first Indian film with option for ‘Visually and Hearing Impaired’ audiences. At the event, the Ace Actor interacted with audiences and the media and autographed DVDs for fans. Aamir Khan also spoke about the various aspects of the DVD and about his upcoming release, ‘Dhobi Ghat’.

OBAMA PRAISES AAMIR KHAN SAHAB WORK

An invite to the prime minister's private dinner for the US first couple was an honour enough, but when President Barack Obama praised his work, Aamir Khan was on cloud nine.
The star, who was invited to the dinner by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his Race Course Road residence, was cornered by the waiting media as soon as the dinner got over around 10 pm last night.
"President Obama said he has heard a lot about my work and my films," said Aamir, who was clad in a cream coloured kurta pyjama.
"It (the dinner) was an opportunity to meet big personalities. I am a big fan of Manmohanji and I am happy that he called me up," he told the journalists.
Aamir, 45, also praised the dinner platter and revealed that First Lady Michelle Obama had told him that she has danced to his title number from Rang De Basanti.
Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar and his actress-activist wife Shabana Azmi were also invited to the grand feast.

AAMIR KHAN SAHAB NEXT MOVIE

After scorching the screens in 2001 with their cult outing Dil Chahta Hai, Aamir Khan and Farhan Akhtar have teamed up again for a suspense drama.

Co-written by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, the movie will be directed by Kagti. It will go on floors in February, 2011.

Aamir, who took a break from acting after the release of his blockbuster 3 Idiots to concentrate on his home productions Peepli Live, Dhobi Ghat and Delhi Belly, has joined hands again with Farhan and his producer partner Ritesh Sidhwani.

“I found the script written by Reema and Zoya really exciting and I am looking forward to working with Ritesh and Farhan once again,” Aamir said in a statement.

Both Farhan and Ritesh are equally excited to team up with Aamir, who will co-produce it with the duo’s Excel Entertainment.

“It feels great to be collaborating with Aamir a decade after DCH. We had been hoping to do a film together since then and I’m thrilled that it is finally happening with this script,” said Farhan.

Ritesh said: “I have been waiting to work with Aamir since ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and its finally happening. It’s special this time as we are also producing it together. I can’t wait to start filming!”

The film is scheduled for a 2011 release.
