AAMIR SALUTES IBN7'S SUPER IDOLS

Aamir Khan honoured the differently abled super achievers at the IBN7 Super Idols awards ceremony in Mumbai. He also spoke about better facilities for such people and promised a lot of support. Also present were Smriti Irani, Tabu, Varun Badola, Rajeshwari, Tisca Chopra, Anu Malik, Lalit Pandit, Aadesh Srivastava, and Bobby Darling among others.

AAMIR NEST THREE, FIRST AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL



Always known to promote his films in the most ingenious way, Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan has now decided to showcase his three upcoming productions- PEEPLI LIVE, DHOBHI GHAAT and DELHI BELLY at various International festivals.

Produced under his very own banner, Aamir Khan Productions (AKP), the three films are much anticipated and expectations are quite high from the three projects. The first one that should release is PEEPLI LIVE directed by Anusha Rizvi and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao and also co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The promos are already there on various entertainment channels and it is a satire on the present system. With excellent actors like Raghuvir Yadav and Naseeruddin Shah as lead actors one can expect some intellectually gratifying stuff from PEEPLI LIVE. News is that it has been selected to compete at Sundance Film Festival 2010.

The next project, DHOBHI GHAAT, starring the promising star and son of late legendary actress Smita Patil and Raj Babbar, Pratik, also has Aamir in a special appearance and the film has been directed by Aamir's wife Kiran Rao. And last but not the least is DELHI BELLY, starring Aamir's nephew and star sensation of JAANE TU...YA JAANE NA, Imran Khan is complete and is also an eagerly awaited film directed by Abhinav Deo. Both the mentioned films too will premier at International film festivals and then release in theatres, later during the second half of this year.

Must add that Aamir sure knows the art of film promotion and the right way to handle different projects.

AAMIR TO CELEBRATE WITH LIMBU PANI



Aamir Khan has given up on drinking and smoking forever. This is in the wake of his New Year resolutions. It's reported that Aamir Khan has vowed never to touch alcohol and he recently showed it at the success party of his film 3 IDIOTS.

Not only that. Even at the engagement ceremony of his nephew Imran Khan, Aamir refrained from any intoxicating drink and refused to gulp the champagne that was being served as part of the celebrations.

Now, Aamir will stick to Limbu pani. He says that he dislikes feeling unfit. Both alcohol and smoking make him feel so and now he has decided to steer clear of them.

When the 3 Idiots team celebrated their success at a suburban restaurant in Andheri on January 18, people noticed that the lead actor Aamir Khan didn’t touch a drop of alcohol.

A couple of days earlier at his nephew Imran Khan’s engagement party too, Aamir refrained from sipping champagne.

News has it that on January 1, 2010 Aamir had decided that he would give up alcohol and cigarettes.

This time, for life.

Aamir says the next time he invites you home he will treat you to a glass of beer, but he will drink limbu paani.

Confirming that he has indeed decided to quit drinking and smoking, Aamir says, “I just felt like doing it from within. There is no specific reason.”

When he’s goaded further, the actor says, “Yaar, I’ve put on 10 kilos in recent months. Also, sometimes, I tended to overdo the drinking bit. And I hate it when I feel unhealthy. So I just decided that I wanted to quit alcohol for life. As for cigarettes, I was never a regular smoker. But I’ve decided to give it up completely too.”

AMIR KHAN SIGNS MEGA ENDORSEMENT WITH ETISALAT



Aamir Khan is on a roll. After the runaway success of 3 Idiots, news is out that Bollywood superstar has signed up as the brand ambassador of UAE's Etisalat, India's latest telecom entrant.

The deal was reportedly inked before the release of 3i at Rs 30-35 crore for a period of 3 years. Etisalat will follow Aamir's other endorsements - Coca Cola, Tata Sky and Samsung.

Etisalat has been the telecommunications service provider in the UAE since 1976, while Etisalat DB Telecom India, previously called Swan Telecom, is a new telco set up jointly by Etisalat and DB Realty, headquartered at Mumbai.
